just FYI we're just outside of Legal, Ab, so not quite Edmonton. We've had some great times and met some genuinely cool people along the way (We're looking your way, Aokan99!). Now, at this point in our life, we're settling down, we've moved from a South-end townhouse to a really kick-ass acreage North of Bon Accord. Yeah, it's kind of a drive but it's so damn cool. We've got 7-1/2 acres to garden, and maybe raise a few animals next year! Woo! Our short list of hobbies and stuff we're in to, in no particular order, includes: Rum, cheese, rabbits, gardening, sci-fi of basically any denomination, reading, sewing and coffee (for him) and tea (for both!). If you are kind of nerdy, or homestead-y we'd love to hear from you, talk shop and swap tips, tricks and preserves! We're an odd mix--blue collar nerds. She grew up in a trades-y family in the boones, and he's a city-slicker carpenter turned country folk. We watch Dr. Who, Torchwood, Firefly, Star Trek and Wars, but still get a kick out of growing vegetables, shooting, camping, quadding, and making a ton of noise outside. We are busy parents. Between working, volunteering, gardening, and other chores we don't have an abundance of free time. But, give us your patience and we'll make it worth your while! Single guys, while we appreciate your attention at least pretend to have some game, okay? A message that starts off "Hey r u two looking for a male slave?" is kinda cool and I could use a hand weeding the garden, watering and feeding future beef around here but jeez. Talk to us like we're on the street, not like you're paying too much for a run-down but she'll do that thing with her tongue.

My Ideal Person We're pretty low-stress, laid back kind of people, interested in the same. To start off, we'd like to meet interesting folks and play together once everyone's comfy. Pushy people are a huge turn-off for us.

What really gets us interested is interesting people. For example, I worked with an African scaffolder outside of Redwater at the NWR plant and that dude was AMAZING. He was a former art-teacher, a wild painter and had all sorts of neat Star Wars trivia, like Tatooine was actually Tataouine, Tunisia and how it's crazy hot there, so the residents do actually live under the sand. He said most houses were 10-15' deep to keep cool during the day.

So, just have neat stories, and be passionate about something that you can share!
