I may have become one of those people I dismissed as wrapping themselves in technology in place of life. This morning I've been emailing, chatting on Sex Friends Finder.net, blogging, posting/chatting on reddit, and chatting on Kik. All in an effort to connect with people.

It took forever for the weather to turn nice. And already I have to mow the lawn. Not complaining, I'd much rather mow than blow. Well, you know what I mean.

Tastes change. Decades ago I was in grad school far enough south to sense southern influences. One of those was grits being served with almost every breakfast. My yankee response was WTF. Lately however I've developed a taste for them. I start several mornings each week with a bowl (instant, I know the purists hate me) of grits topped by a couple of fried eggs. Each time I season them slightly differently. Fast, tasty, filling. Not a bad start to a day.

Slept with the bedroom window open for the first time this spring. That is not likely to induce any to peek in given the dense brush and distant neighbors outside that window. It is a sign of good sleeping to come. The night air just cool enough to warrant pulling a sheet up. Early morning light and bird song gently awakening .

I'm not a fanatic about having a pristine lawn. As long as it is mostly green, crabgrass counts, and clouds of dust don't billow from the mower, I'm good. Therefore I got an unreasonably high amount of satisfaction from getting the backyard raked over the weekend between stints of having to be at work. It had looked like crap and getting it cleaned up made me feel great.

There are lots of good things in life, like coffee. But sometimes they are just better. Isn't Saturday coffee better? It sure seems so. Camping coffee is also better. What good things do you think get better in certain situations or at particular times?

This is a serious health concern and needs to be dealt with on a national level. Bad knees of my partners are limiting the oral and doggy I can get. It is a crisis situation.

Yeah, I wish it were that too. Unfortunately I forgot to empty the remains of yesterdays coffee from the pot. When it brewed today's pot there wasn't room for all of it and it ended up on the counter. Big, hot, sloppy mess.

In addition to my plan to experiment with Bloody Mary recipes, I have a number of other projects on the to do list once the semester ends. I'm installing a new deck door to replace an ill sliding worn . I'm got to replace some decorative fencing that took a beating with all the snow this winter. I've replacing a bathroom faucet (I hate plumbing). And of course there are the ongoing needs for extensive bicycling and kayaking.
