My apologies for the length of my reply... 😊 Feel free to delete after reading 📖... Well... THAT... was a touching, worthy story. Worthy of a book? I can imagine the movie! Worthy to share. 👍 My parents, had a summer cottage, perched up north, on a couple of acres of pine forested land. They built portons of it, with everyone's help; including my grandparents and uncle... and my brother and me. It was our refuge. It held memories, from every member of the family - that spanned decades. It was always special, to jump out of the car and onto the soft bed, of those fragrant pine needles. I'd never tire... of that first breath of air, as I inhaled. When I met my wife, we spent one summer there. Always a quick walk to the river, nearby... it was a special place. I planned on raising the house, putting in a basement and making it into a home... someday. My parents... spoke of retiring there... at least, during the summer. The following July (4 th to be precise)... some kids put a match to it. Just for fun. That house and everything in it... including the dreams and memories, everyone had... burned to the ground... My parents never rebuilt. They sold the property... against my wishes. I drove by there last year. Just to see it. That slice of land has been overtaken with large spruce and pine and birch trees. If I wasn't there to tell you... you'd never know, there had been a family... that had a summer cottage there, at one time. You'd never know. I did... ... is there another way to look at it Going Too Fucking Far NEW Blog Features RevealeD O O A Foolproof Method Posted Over on that NEW site O O

A perfect read for a hot summer day when you are in the mood for *pensive* rather than *rom-com*. Relationships with artists are always challenging and our own sensibilities can be counterproductive in the search for equilibrium. It sounds as if you found a balance point and crafted a tenable arrangement with your daughter's father. As contemplated in an earlier comment, the reader is left hungry for another chapter or three, to bridge the years between the start and finish of this compelling narrative. Bravo!

I lived across from a lake when I was young. There were many summertime experiences I remember, most bring a smile to my mind. My parent(mom) did not own any lakefront access, but the people who had summer cottages were all friends and we all swam and skiied the summer away. Riding your bicycle to the local Ice Cream stand for a special treat of fresh Peach, Strawberry, or Blueberry cone. Yup, I remember..
