Are you blushing?

Are you blushing?

Out at work today, my texted me, as she is prone to do. She had started her period and realized she didn't have enough tampons and liners. So of course, I stopped by the grocery store to pick some up for her.

At the register checking out, a young lady cashier makes a comment about how great it is that I'm not embarrassed to buy feminine products for my wife. I told her, they were for my and said I never understood why it embarrasses some guys. A lady, in line behind me, says her husband refuses to buy feminine products. I just shook my head and said I thought it was a silly thing to be embarrassed about.

I guess most people have things that embarrass them. Though I've never understood this one. It's just a natural thing, that really isn't a secret. Once a month or so, women bleed. And they use feminine products. If you're married, attached or have teenage daughters, trust me, everyone knows they have periods.

It takes a lot to embarrass me. It must, because for the life of me I can't think of anything that makes me blush.

I made the mistake, of diving off a cliff at a nearby lake, in gym shorts. Those babies swooshed right off me in a instant. And being sorta murky, I couldn't find them. So, I swam up to shore and hollered up at my friends to throw me down a towel. A girl that was there, said something to the effect of how embarrassing that was. I asked, was it?

I've had people walk in on me while I was in the restroom. Hell, I've walked into other people using the restroom. Just no big deal to me. Say, sorry and close the door.

I thought this would be a good place to ask if people get embarrassed easily. I mean, certainly there are plenty of people who don't get embarrassed if someone see's them naked. But I wonder if there's others that do? Or if there are other things in life that embarrass you.

It's sorta funny, because I feel bad when I see someone embarrassed. Like if they trip, or spill a drink at a bar. I always try to help them laugh it off. But I really can't remember the last time I felt embarrassed. Maybe I'm just used to laughing at some of the things I do.

I wonder if the guys that are embarrassed to buy tampons, are embarrassed to buy toilet paper. I mean again, it's no secret. We all know what it's gonna be used for.

I have to say once again you have proven your a real man, and the reason I say this is MOST men will not buy feminine products as I don't get why they don't it's just a fact of life. Your daughter is very lucky you were available to help her out this morning.

I can't remember the last time I was embarrassed about something, well there was when I got called out in front of the whole club for my Birthday. I really don't like when people make it a big deal as it's just another day to me..

Thanks for sharing your morning with us as I always look forward to your blogs as I know I am in for a great read. I hope you enjoy the rest of your day..

I must admit I get embarrassed at the thoughts of falling over....I slipped in the snow once and ended up flat on my ass and I was mortified. Thankfully only my pride was hurt!! Not much else bothers me these days....I am too old to care what others think!!!

I always thought people were just being silly when they told me I don't "think" like most people. As I've gotten older, I think I see it more now.

For the life of me, I will never understand this one. LOL

I think a lot of people get embarrassed when people make a fuss over them.

Thanks Trzzz.

I wonder if it's something we just get as we get older? My youngest daughter and I still laugh at times , about when she was around 4. She went through that clumsy stage, where she could be walking down the sidewalk and fall flat on her face. I'd jump to help her up, but she always just sprang up declaring, "I'm OK". LOL

I also think we care less what people think as we get older. I can't wait till I really turn 96. I'm gonna be embarrassing everyone.

It is sorta different , when you really think about it. I know a lot of people who blush if I compliment them.

And good point. I could maybe understand this if we're talking about some teen guy, who hasn't figured out life yet. But grown ass men? Come on....

Well, I'll admit to feeling a little bit of embarrassment if I get caught peeing in the woods. And that's more in sympathy for the embarrassed people that caught me.

Surprisingly at my age, there are still things that can make me blush - the curse of a fair complexion.

Opportunity may knock only once, but temptation bangs on the door forever!

LOL...that's a great idea actually. Even those guys on here , screaming about not being able to meet anyone, could fool people in the grocery store. Just fill the whole damn cart with tampons, pads and liners. Then anytime someone looked at them, they could say....OH YEAH....I've got a lot of girlfriends. !!!

And that sounds like me..I really don't get embarrassed about stuff. But I'm great at embarrassing my kids when we go out. LOL It's gotten less fun through the years, cause they know it's coming.

Again, like the hating cold weather, I think I'm more of the anomaly. Most people get embarrassed about stuff like that.

Haha, yeah I bet it's hard to hide a blush with fair complexion.

See, I'd have guessed you'd be one that didn't have a problem with it. It really is just no big deal, in my book.

The biggest problem with buying "feminine products" is there ar so friggin many and I usually have no clue which one to get when sent.

I think at some point in time I didn't care a whole lot about stranger's opinions of what I'm doing. If they dared to comment I'd given them the semi-death stare.

When the going gets weird, the weird turn pro.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.

I'm not easily embarrassed and having raised 2 daughters, I have no ssues. As an extrovert and amateur exhibitionist in the face of any audience or situation .. I'm not easily fazed either .
I'm more likely to get embarrassed by something stupid I might have said.

That's where the mighty cell phone comes in handy. My daughter is always asking for some new shampoo, or face wash...you name it. I just have her send me a ad, or a picture for it. Saves me the...oh Dad, not that one...

Yeah, between Lonly, Redrock and yourself, I didn't take any of you to be the kind that wouldn't pick up some tampons for the significant other or daughter.

My kids try to get me, when i mispronounce one of "their" generations words. I just laugh. Don't think I ever say meme the same way twice. Could be on purpose...shhhh

As superbj said "the curse of a fair complexion". I blush VERY easily...sometimes from something as simple as someone looking at me. Always have, and it doesn't seem to be getting any better with age. lol
On the other hand, I also have no problems laughing at myself over some of the crazy stuff I do or say.

My youngest daughter is like that. She's fair, and she just goes beet red at times. LOL

It's good to be able to laugh at yourself. Hell, I have to do it all the time.

Well with raising four girls, if your dad was the "embarrassed" kind, he would have had tons of practice getting over it. LOL

I would imagine, the scenario's you spoke of would tend to lead you away from being easily embarrassed. haha. But then I figured that much about you anyway.

You are a good dad. You should teach classes to young men so we train the next generation of men to just not stress about it.

Which makes me realize I did a piss-poor job of that with my boys! I taught them to do laundry, to cook, to clean up after themselves, to treat others with respect, how to speak in sarcasm. But, their dad taught them to never shop for feminine products. Imma have to fix that.

My ex only bought pads for me once...when my daughter was an infant. He didn't complain, but I knew he wasn't happy about it. I never asked him again. At least he came home with the right thing...he was infamous for doing a terrible job of something he didn't want to do so you'd never ask him to do it again.

Yeah...I get embarrassed...usually, it for doing something or saying something I think is stupid. Likely no one else thinks it's stupid, lol. I don't get embarrassed, but I am very uncomfortable being the focus of attention in a social situation. And...I do blush. I used to blush so fiercely...my entire face, neck, and upper chest would turn red and splotchy, which was even more embarrassing, lol.

I raised my three oldest from their early teens on, by myself. Two of them boys. I like to think I did my best to teach them respect, how to treat others, and not to let silly things bother them. I'm sure both would have no problems. haha

Now I have 4 grandsons to work on...but since the oldest one is only 3, I have a little time to just teach them to wave board.

LOL...that's great. Embarrassed about being embarrassed. It begs the question...
Can I be embarrassed about not being embarrassed.
