6 Tips On How to Successfully Blog... While Drinking... 🍷🍷😎❗

6 Tips On How to Successfully Blog... While Drinking... 🍷🍷😎❗

Drinking, while doing anything - except partying - doesn't work. And even then, it should be done in moderation. You say you want to drink and write? Well THAT'S, a recipe for failure. But what if , someone challenged you to a game. Let's assume the question was - 'Can you successfully blog while drinking?' Here are six tips to help you win that bet.

1. Choose a Title or Theme, Ahead Of Time:
Don't count on thinking with impartial clarity while that bottle is open. Develop a theme, outline, and title - before that cork comes off. A 'good idea' - while your brain is fuzzy - is often, not as good as you think it is.

2. Eat Beforehand:
Never drink on an empty stomach. A tasty balance of starches and carbs provides your gut with a satisfying surge of energy. More importantly, it will coat your stomach with a protective layer of nutrients to prevent those alcohol molecules from overpowering your brain too quickly.

3. Don't Mix Drinks :
Choose your favorite beverage and stick with it. Don't mix red with white or beer with hard stuff. What would you lean towards?

4. Choose a Good Word Editor:
Nothing worse than a poorly crafted sentence or one with tons of mistakes in it. I use 'Word' to manage my prose and eliminate typos and grammar errors. 'Grammarly' is a good choice as well. Copy and paste your final version into your target document.

5. Edit, Edit... Then Edit Some More:
Don't get carried away. Just because you have 2 thousand words swimming in your head, doesn't mean you're obliged to put them all down. Less is more. If you can take a paragraph and put it into a sentence, then chop that sentence and find one word that fits - do it. A thesaurus is a great tool, especially for the tipsy mind.

6. Be Safe Before You're Sorry:
Before you finally press 'enter' and send your thoughts out into the web, triple and quadruple check what you've scribbled. You don't want to offend or piss anyone off - unless THAT'S your goal. Remember, once out there your words can't be taken back!

And there you have it. A guide and 6 tips to successfully combining the bottle with the blog - or any written words, for that matter.

Personally, I never drink while typing a written piece of anything. Those vodka pineapple slushies - I'm fond of - are for weekends by the lake. Now, mind you, if it's a letter to my bank or a comment to a person who's brushed a nerve - my inner monologue disappears and I might let some un-sanded words fly.

Can you think of anything I've missed? How do you edit your words and thoughts before pressing 'enter' and letting them flutter?

I've never tried to drink and write, nor wanted to, why ruin a good buzz? But one rule I learned a long time ago, If it's something that might be controversial, or involves more than myself, or written in a heat of passion or anger to get something off my chest, I might jot it down it, but revisit again in 24 hours before hitting enter. And that applies to responding to someone else's writings also. It's amazing how unimportant things might become in 24 hours.

In your 'apology' to me for kicking me repeatedly when I was down, you said that Jameson had a lot to do with your written comments. Maybe you would be kind enough to explain how you square that off against your assertion that you 'never drink while typing a written piece of anything'? I don't mean to kick you while you're down, but I'm having difficulty in reconciling the two statements.

A gentleman of colour recently demonstrated to me the true meaning of humility and of the ability to stop and listen before truly being able to understand someone else's perspective. I always thought myself pretty good at that, until I read the fellow's words. I'll happily point you in the direction of his comment if you think it would be of use to you?

Hm, I used to drink and interact in the chat room quite frequently...hopefully I never offended anyone...well, a few times I meant to. Ha!

I don't use any tools like Grammarly, but it probably wouldn't hurt. The one thing I sometimes catch myself doing is using the same word twice in the same paragraph. In my last post it was the word 'wonderful'. I didn't see it until after I hit post, but it bugged me enough to go back and change the second one to 'fantastic'.

That's a quite interesting, or should i say, rude comment, coming form a person who is on this site for little over a year...obviously you do not know how to act right...

Personally, your profile sounds a fake, somehow I feel it's a male half of a couple just set up a female profile. in fact, it states, "married-couple exploring a hotwife lifestyle." you should have properly set up a couple profile, if it is a couple thing. does your wife know you put her naked pic on the site like this?

good luck on your search.

I didn't keep transcripts but my username might give you an idea of what went on.

Preferred beverage depends on time of year. Winter, red wine at home, maybe a martini if I'm out at a bar or restaurant. Summer, white wine or a margarita. I bought a bottle of pre-mixed margaritas at Costco and it was actually halfway decent, so that's my new thing.

So your question about 'tricks' was rhetorical? Some conversations should be private. Isn't that why most bloggers have a private mail box?

Writing will definitely not be possible with alcohol. A drink will do either of two things, make me drowsy or in the mood. But now that I think of it, I have posted photos of me featuring various alcoholic beverages so technically I do drink and blog !
I will have a margarita now that it's in the middle of summer.

Meaningful communication happens on the phone. I prefer spontaneous conversations where someone has to 'think on their feet' instead of having time to re-think and edit. No doubt, you have all the 'tricks' up your sleeve.

1. You leave three completely different responses to my comment but only the first one appears here. I'm not sure what your intention is with that, but I'll reply to the visible first one.
2. The paragraph in which you claimed never to drink and post seems different to when I first read it. Indeed, in conjunction with my comment and your visible response it could now be inferred that it was my fault that you chose to leave irresponsible and inappropriate comments on my blog at a time when I could have done without them, with what seemed to be nothing more than self-aggrandising intent. In your subsequent so-called apology you took little or no responsibility for your actions.
3. My point was not to say 'never say never'. It was to ask for clarity - do you or don't you post when drinking - and to offer some help to you in finding something that seems to elude you - that being humility. Thank you for confirming what I already knew, what I think most people you go at already know, that your words are often written somewhat injudiciously when you’re under the influence of alcohol. If you are genuinely interested in trying to learn the true meaning of humility and understanding, please feel free to visit a post I did a few weeks back about the pinnacle of racism. A gentleman called Forgetforgetting left the most amazing comment I’ve ever read from anyone here, demonstrating a level of humility which is astonishing in the circumstances, something to which I can only aspire. I’ll be happy to chat further when you’ve acquired the merest fraction of it, alcohol-free too, of course.

In the meantime, I don’t really have much more to say that wouldn’t fan the flames and perhaps stoke what appears to be the disproportionate value you place on notoriety and fame. Oops, I just said it.

1. My objective? Two thoughts came to mind after ‘quoting’ you, so I added them as ‘comments’ rather than ‘quotes’. There was no need for redundancy and clutter.

2. Is your goal to chafe at an old wound? I’ve already apologized to you. Am I now supposed to recall (verbatim) what I wrote two years ago, reflect on it - and offer another apology? Could self-aggrandizing intent be applied to your remarks herein? Or, let’s take this off-line and study the details together - someplace where they serve good coffee?

3. I hardly need a libation to - as you put it - ‘go at’ people. As for their perceptions and opinions, everyone is entitled to their own. Humility? Yepâ€Ķ got tons of that as well. I also employ quite a bit of self-deprecating humor and sarcasm in everything I write. I understand sarcasm, in particular - although the simplest form of the chuckle - requires some intelligence to digest. I frequently make fun of myself, this island, and its inhabitants. Some people take themselves too seriously, including you perhaps?

“â€Ķdisproportionate value you place on notoriety and fameâ€Ķ” - there ya go again. That’s my sarcasm and its poked out and painted the wrong picture for you. No worriesâ€Ķ I’ll write more s l o w l y in the future.

I'll read that gentleman’s remarks. Thanks for popping in. Drop by any time.

I imbibe vodka, nit always slushies and happened to spy a bottle of Pink Lemonade Vodka in the NH liquor store. Yep, I bought 2 of them as it was going to be discontinued- kinda like my blogging has been on hiatus( what ho a big word here). I can t type when I am consuming alcohol but I have had a few drunk verbal conversations- they dont always go well at all. And I loved reading this
Conversations that don't go well? Hmmm... lol... No worries, keep on practicing!
Cheers to vodka and all those frozen fabulous possibilities !

What a beautiful picture. Puts perspective on things. Thank you!!!

Yes, your 'tons' of humility really shine through clear as the morning sunshine in your comment on this post:

And the beat goes on

Such a shame for you that you can't go back and change those words though, eh?

Quoting Lindo: "Clearly very insecure and looking to drag people down to make himself feel better. But sucking the life out of things as he goes.......I'm going to drop that comment into his post, for his adoring public to see.

I have to confess that this place is feeling a bit jaded for me at the moment. Too much drama, Paul no doubt delighted that he's managed to put himself in the centre of it. For the first time ever I'm struggling to enjoy the lunacy of it all. Just cannae be arsed.

Hey, there are worse things in life than being fed up with the ville of blogs.

When can we get back to skelping arses, that's what I want to know!?!?

- - - - -
You're confused about things... and using cliches to hide the fact that you don't know a thing about what your're talking about.

What I want to know is: Where the fuck does your fake accent go from time to time?
And why fake it? Ya think it's cute?

No worries. I didn't expect more.

Anddddddâ€Ķâ€Ķ..you think it’s okay, acceptable, to talk about women here, or anywhere else for that matter, in those terms? In any circumstances? Okayyyyyyyâ€Ķâ€Ķcrack on. But don’t expect people to be silent about it, especially when you’re so hypocritical elsewhere.

You know paul, several years ago I was having troubles with a couple of bullies, jealous people. I was talking with a wise old uncle about it ( he was your age at the time, assuming you are indeed 63yo), explaining the situation. In his usual measured way he said ‘McFucktard, McNaeBaws, whateva, maybe you should just continue on behaving as you do normally, calling out the things that are wrong in your usual calm way, and letting the people around who behave badly continue to do so, because all they’ll do is show themselves up for what they are’. That has stayed with me ever since, like the wee guardian angel on yer shooder.

I’ll finish with this. I once engaged in mob-mentality here, not something I’m proud of. Most people here will not remember who or why. I do. Vividly. Shamefully. Never again. If anyone is lynching you, it ain’t me. Our issues are your making. Your problems are your making. So I saw your pontificating post about sobriety and posting, I called it out. You chose, in your usual bizarre way, to go off on one, or two, or more. If anyone else is going at you, I’ll have no part of that. Your problems with Lala are yours’. While I agree with her, I won’t be raising anything other than individual issues. If you are being lynchedâ€Ķâ€Ķâ€Ķmaybe just stop and ask yourself why. Not who. Why. Just a thought.

Be safe, stay safe, stay sober.

ps – ah’m no the yin wi’ the accent ya numpty!

Look...
You don't know me from a hole in the wall. I have over 200 blogs our there.
You show up on THIS one to rag me about an event 2 years old, then go bouncing back to blah blah to happily use a bunch of adjectives to describe me.
You don't know squat about me nor have you ever tried. Don't wonder why people like my blogs; i'll tell you why.
Because I don't take myself or this island seriously. All that other stuff you see? It's crap. Ya wanna hit on me? No worries. Just do it to my face, that's all Im saying.

At this point, it seems like it would just be a pissing contest and a poor one at that. You've made up your mind about me.

Again, no worries - but if ya have a problem with me, just say it to my face, don't go crawling around behind my back gleefully burning an effigy of me.

That quote was NOT a generalization but specific to one man's plight and my commitment (quite sober) on how to deal with women.
You can replace the word 'woman' and replace it with men and it would work the same.

Taken out of context and read on it's own, it sounds as you perceive it to be. Tell me that all sexes don't take themselves too seriously at some point or another.

Do what you'll do and be who you'll be. Im not hard to understand. Im not the asshole you think I am. It's being drummed into your head. Read some of my blogs and you'll see. Why do people follow me? I make them either laugh or cry or something in between.

Drinking and posting comments or trying to write, doesn't work.
You can establish a reputation which might be difficult to undo. But if that's what you want, go for it!

Wise words my friend. Especially when people don't understand your sarcasm and you've been joking about it for a while. They presume anything you write is true.

Hey, I tried Grammarly on my latest post! It found a few cases where it thought I had a redundant comma (I disagreed). And it did flag a missing word that was a legitimate error. After fixing that, I had a score of 95.

Feeling quite chuffed about myself right now!

Since I use the Chrome browser, I was able to add it in as a free 'extension'.

lol 😂... Good for you. I know, right? It works great for me. I have it on my phone as well.
On the bottom left, you can choose which language you want to use. USA 🇚ðŸ‡ļ English will use more commas while 🇎🇧 UK English uses less.
I find the same issues with commas.
Glad to hear that it works for you! 👍 😊

Since I notice we're still 'friends', as per Sex Friends Finder.net. Should I take things up with A F F customer service, or is something else going on?
Let me know... Thanks. 😎🍷🍷❗
