 I am sorry you are hurting but it is nice to know men can go through this as well as women. I can relate to what you are saying except my lover and I were both married to other people.

Your heart decides who you fall in love with. I loved both men in my life for very different reasons.
You are correct in you can not make someone love you back.

The one thing I did notice though is you have a heart. You apologized to the woman you hurt that was so in love with you. You know what it feels like. In my case the guy wanted to play mind games with me and never had feelings. He just liked the fact that I did.

Good luck in finding that person that helps mend your broken heart.

 Time heals all wounds,emotions of the heart the ones that take the longest to heal,especially when one does not love easy.Takes twice as long to heal..Also harder to let someone get closer to you when you have been hurt in the past,those wall we have up to protect ourselves have a funny way of not letting us feel..Live ,Love and laugh.Life is to short not to ...

 I too have been down the path of unrequited love, but I have also been blessed with being loved beyound what one could ever immagine.... the pain from loosing that is devistating, but the strength gained from the knowledge that you were able to find it makes getting up each morning worth while.
I fear many never find that in their lives, to me this is very sad.
