A Fellow Truckers Poem.

A Fellow Truckers Poem.

I received this poem from a fellow trucker here on the site. His handle is ltrskr and he is known as "Big Joe."

Hello again,I wrote this on the road, hope u like it.

Thru mountain snow, or desert heat
In a big 'ol Kenworth or long nose Pete
Thru city smog or high clean air
Put me in a big truck, go'in somewhere

Groceries from the store or parts for your for car
Medicine for Mom, or even a candy bar
Without us rolling the shelves would be bare
But we're in a big truck get'n it there

When I take that last exit and met my fate
Loads all delivered I'm at that last gate
God will know I've earned a place there
In a big truck, go'n somewhere.......

"bigjoe"

That's an awesome poem, and very fitting! Having driven truck for several years, and driven many many miles through all types of weather up hill and dale through mountains on wide as well as narrow roads, through traffic jams on 8 lane highways, and narrow streets where only inches were all I had to fit through, backing up for miles, to avoid a long wait, dealing with rain, sleet, ice and snow, only a trucker knows how stressful it can be, but also how free it is..... Pulling into a truckstop, filling out your logbook as the lot lizzards jump on the fuel tanks plying their trade.....meeting so many wonderful people, yet dealing with so many idiots on two wheels or 4..... Yes, the life of a trucker is a wonderful one......sadly, you miss out on a lot at home, but it's still a great life!
